Project: Elementary Renovation and Addition
Client: Advance R-IV School District, Elementary School
Location: Advance Missouri
The project included the renovation of the 1950 Elementary School and construction of additions to this building. This project included a new office area; entry with lobby and meeting room; new kitchen addition; and new connecting corridors that enclosed the entire elementary building that is now connected to the 1997 High School. These new connecting corridors and additions were designed so that the entire Elementary and High School campus includes coordinated architectural masonry and sheet metal on exteriors, entries and covered walkways. Dille & Traxel Architects were retained by Strickland Engineering to provide the architectural design on this project.

Project: Additions to Bay School District
Client: Bay Schools
Location: Bay Arkansas
This project is for a new 28,000 sq ft addition to connect the existing High School, Elementary, and Safe Room buildings. The new addition includes a new cafeteria, kitchen, stage area, family science classroom, computer labs, and special services classrooms. This new addition was funded through the Arkansas State School District and was designed per the newly adopted Arkansas School Facility Manual. The MPE systems included individual room HVAC systems with computerized temperature controls and central make-up air system, new electrical service entrance for the three buildings, sprinkler system, and smartboards in each classroom. Construction is schedule for completion in September 2008.

Project: Career and Technology Center Annex
Client: Cape Girardeau Public Schools
Location: Cape Girardeau, Missouri
This project is a new 12,000 sq ft classroom and shop building for the Career and Technology Center. The facility includes six classrooms and two shop areas (cabinet-making and industrial electric). The MPE systems included RTU HVAC systems with integral energy recovery, smartboards in each classroom, paint-booth area in the cabinet shop and dust collection system. The building’s communication and alarm systems connect to the existing Career and Technology Center building. Construction was completed in August 2007.

Project: Malden Elementary Gymnasium
Client: Malden Schools
Location: Malden, Missouri
This new 14,000 sq ft elementary gymnasium building includes two playing courts, locker rooms, bleachers, mezzanine area, and lobby/concession area. The MPE systems included high-bay fluorescent lighting and split system central HVAC systems with duct-sox fabric ductwork for the main gymnasium. Construction was completed in Fall 2007.

Project: Naylor Elementary School
Client: Naylor Schools
Location: Naylor, Missouri
This new 20,000 sq ft elementary classroom building includes 18 classrooms, office area, restrooms, and new entry to the gymnasium. The MPE systems included individual energy efficient packaged HVAC units for each classroom, central split system HVAC units for the central core areas, fluorescent lighting, fire alarm system, and wiring for smartboards in each classroom. Construction was completed in Summer 2007.

Project: HVAC Modifications for the West Plains School District
Client: West Plains R-7 Schools
Location: West Plains, Missouri
Strickland Engineering was the MPE Consultant for the HVAC Modifications performed by The Trane Company, St. Louis, Missouri through a performance contract. The Trane Company was the Project Manager/General Contractor for the project and sub-contracted the installation to various contractors. The project included work in the West Plains Elementary, Middle School, High School, Career Center, South Fork Elementary, and Administration buildings.

Project: New Tornado Safe Room
Client: Bay Schools
Location: Bay, Arkansas
This project included the MPE systems for a new 4100 sq ft classroom/emergency tornado shelter building. The building was a multi-purpose classroom which would be used as a free-standing emergency tornado shelter in case of emergency. The building was funded through a FEMA grant through the State of Arkansas and was designed to FEMA standards for Community Shelters. The MPE systems included emergency generator for back-up power and an HVAC system with emergency ventilation in case of power loss.

Project: New Building for Saxony Lutheran High School
Client: Saxony Lutheran Schools
Location: Cape Girardeau County, Missouri
This project was for a new regional high school building for the Saxony Lutheran Schools. The building includes classrooms, office suite, library, science and computer labs, kitchen chapel/common area, and full gymnasium and locker room facilities. The facility includes rooftop HVAC systems with integral energy recovery. Project: HVAC Modifications for the West Lane Elementary School
Client: Jackson R-II School District
Location: Jackson, Missouri
This project included the replacement of the existing classroom unit ventilators with new energy efficient classroom units, the installation of new natural gas piping, and the replacement of the existing electric heating rooftop units with new gas-fired rooftop units for the entire building. This project was installed in phases with the district performing some of the labor and installation.

Project: New Elementary School
Client: Immaculate Conception Catholic School
Location: Jackson, Missouri
This new school addition was a Design-Build project with Dutch Enterprises, Jackson, Missouri for the plumbing and electrical work. This project was fast-tracked due to tornado damage in May 2003. This addition to the existing classroom building included an additional new 2-story classroom addition and a new gymnasium addition.

Project: HVAC Modifications for the Middle School/High School
Client: Arcadia Valley R-2 School District
Location: Ironton, Missouri
The modifications included the installation of a new computerized temperature control system and replacement of VAV boxes on three (3) of the existing rooftop HVAC systems. The control system is expandable to include the entire building at a future date. The project also included the service and repair of the existing rooftop units. This project was funded by the DESE Federal School Improvement Grant with the assistance of Strickland Engineering in the writing of the grant scope.

Project: Elementary and High School Maintenance Upgrades
Client: Clarkton School District C-4
Location: Clarkton, Missouri
The Maintenance Upgrades in the Elementary building included the installation the remodel of the main corridor and the renovation of the restrooms to comply with ADA. The Maintenance Upgrades in the High School building included the installation of new flooring in the classrooms and the renovation of the restrooms to comply with ADA. These projects were funded by the DESE Federal School Improvement Grant with the assistance of Strickland Engineering in the writing of the grant scope.

Project: Elementary School Addition
Client: Immanuel Lutheran School
Location: Perryville, Missouri
This new school building addition of 27,000 sq. ft. K-8 grade classrooms, office suite, library, science and computer labs, full kitchen and cafeteria. The HVAC systems include individual fancoil units for each classroom and central fresh air system supplied through an energy recovery unit. Strickland Engineering provided the MPE engineering services for the project architect, PFAFF Partnership, St. Louis, Missouri.  This project was completed in September 2003. View more information
