Project: New Painter and Millwright Facility
Client: Carpenters’ District
Council
Location: Cape Girardeau, Missouri
This new facility for the
Carpenters’ District Council
included offices, classrooms, and workshops for painter and
millwright training. The facility included radiant hot-water
heating in the floor of the shop area, central exhaust system
for the welding & cutting booths in the millwright shop,
and a spray booth in the painter shop. The painter’s
workshop included explosion proof devices and lighting. The
shops also included a central compressed air system.

Client: Duke Energy North America
Location: Vandalia,
Missouri
Strickland Engineering provided the design of a 5,400 sq.
ft. building to Artisan Contracting, Inc., General Contractor,
for this design/build project. This building includes a shop,
warehouse, central control room, offices, and restrooms.
This new Administration / Control / Warehouse building also
includes a computer control room with a raised floor featuring
a woodcore access floor panel. The design includes the provision
of power with UPS and data wiring systems.

Project
Client: Noranda Aluminum
Location: New
Madrid, Missouri
This project included
working with Noranda Aluminum’s
engineering staff to develop scope and schematic design of
eight separate support areas to be included in their current
plant expansion. These areas included new facilities and
renovations of existing facilities. Construction documents
were then developed for Noranda’s Construction Manager,
J. S. Alberici, to solicit bids for construction. The different
buildings were as follows:

Project: Maintenance Facility Building Additions & Site
Improvements
Client: M&A Electric Cooperative
Location: Poplar
Bluff, Missouri
This project included electrical design for site improvements
consisting of the construction of five new buildings, as
well as, the renovation of two existing buildings and the
installation of additional site lighting. The new buildings
consisted of garage, maintenance and communications facilities
with provisions for communications between existing site
buildings utilizing an in-ground pre-fabricated concrete
trench system. The new communications facilities also included
provisions for emergency power and surge suppression systems.
The existing building renovations included upgrading electrical
services to maintenance and storage buildings with provisions
for future communications systems installations and site
expansion. Other site improvements included completing a
full site lighting analysis and adding additional building
and pole mounted lights to achieve desired lighting levels.
